2. Check the condition of the products

Go through the condition of all clothes and other items in bright light. Look for hidden stains, especially on the cuffs and collars of shirts. Examine the knees of pants. Check the toes, insoles, and heels of shoes. The cheaper and older the product, the better condition it should be in.

  • Does the garment look neat or shabby overall?
  • Are there stains on the garment? Pay particular attention to the cuffs and collar!
  • Are there any holes in the garment?
  • Is the garment wrinkled?
  • Are there any unraveling or twisted seams on the garment?
  • Is there a lot of pilling or lint from washing on the garment?
  • Have the colors of the garment faded?
  • Has the garment turned gray or yellow?
  • Are the prints on the garment worn out?
  • Are all the buttons intact?
  • Does the zipper work, and are any parts missing?
  • Does the garment have a musty smell
  • How new is the product?
  • Is the garment outdated in style?
  • Do not pack any stained products for sale. We do not put them up for sale.
  • Try to remove stains before selling, if possible.
  • Check also sweat stains in armpits.
  • Even expensive branded clothes do not sell if they are stained.
  • Do not pack stained clothes for sale – there is no demand for them.
  • For baby clothes, especially check for spit-up stains and yellowing on the collar.
  • We do not recommend selling old clothes that have been stored for a long time at Kidia, as there are no buyers for them.
  • It is difficult to give a definitive answer as to when a garment is no longer worth selling.
  • When a garment is over 5 years old, its resale value is already low.
  • Clothes over 10 years old should not be sold at Kidia at all.
  • The demand greatly depends on the style of the garment.
  • If the garment is outdated in fashion, there is no demand for it.
  • Kidia is not the best place to sell retro and vintage clothes.

We only sell items in good condition.

We do not sell stained, worn out, or damaged items.

We do not sell worn-out shoes.

3. Leave out unsuitable items

Exclude products that do not belong to our selection from sales. Do not pack for sale items that are stained, worn out, or out of style.

We Select Only In-Demand Products for Sale

We do not necessarily put all the items you bring up for sale. We select products based on demand.

If there is no demand for the clothing item with us due to its condition, brand, fashion, model, or age, we will not select it for sale. We also consider the season.

We do not sell ultra-fast fashion (such as Shein, Boohoo, Cider).

We do not sell toys and other products purchased from Temu and similar stores.

We do not sell suspected counterfeit products. If we suspect the authenticity of a product, we will not select it for sale.

4. Count every item

Remember, you can only bring for sale the number of items that you have reserved a slot for. If you bring too many items, we will charge a handling fee according to our price list. We do not handle a large number of extra items for sale. The number of items in our stores is carefully calculated based on shop space and our working hours.

  • One item at Kidia equals one price tag.
  • Clear product sets are counted as one item, such as shoes, two-piece pajamas, etc.
  • One piece of clothing is always considered one item unless it is a clear outfit set.
  • You cannot create your own product packages from clothes unless it is a clear outfit set.
  • We do not put multiple items bundled together for sale (for example, 4 bodysuits or shirts).
  • Always pack outfits that belong together next to each other
  • We may separate sets during pricing if we determine that selling them separately is more profitable.
  • Small toys (Legos, etc.) are reasonable to sell as one item packed, for example, in a small bag. These are counted as one item. However, the toys must clearly be from the same series or similar.
  • We sell socks and underwear in sets of 2-3 pairs, so one set equals one item.
  • We do not sell bags of socks or underwear that contain multiple pairs inside. If such bags are included among the sales items, they will be excluded from the sale or separated into individual items.
  • If you are unsure, you can always ask us for help!

One product package includes the handling of 80 items

One price tag = one item

5. Wash, maintain, and iron

This is the most important step! Clean, ironed and odorless clothes sell the best. By maintaining the product before sale, you directly affect its selling price.

  • Wash all clothes with a fragrance-free detergent.
  • Iron all wrinkled clothes. Wrinkled clothes do not sell.
  • Button up the clothes.
  • Remove pills and fuzz.
  • Remove animal hair.
  • Wipe or wash shoes, toys, and other accessories to clean them.
  • Clothes that have been stored for a long time should be washed or aired out before bringing them for sale.

6. Pack neatly in a bag or a cardboard box

  • Pack the items neatly in a bag or cardboard box.
  • Do not pack items in a plastic box.
  • Pack clothes loosely and folded.
  • Ensure that clothes are thoroughly dried after washing before packing them.
  • Label all bags with your name.
  • We hope you pack children’s and adults’ items separately.
  • You will get your bags back at the end of the sales period.

7. Deliver to us 5-7 days before your selling time starts

  • You will receive instructions for delivering items from us via email well before your sales period starts.
  • These instructions will include the final delivery date for the items.
  • You can bring the items to us 5-7 days before your selling time starts.
  • It is important that you deliver the items to us on time so we can handle them before your selling time starts.
  • Please do not deliver items to us in advance. We have limited storage space, so we cannot store items for longer periods.
  • Let us know if you cannot bring the items on time or if you want to bring them in advance.
  • If you wish, you can also order a pickup service for your items from your doorstep for €14.90. Contact us if you want to order the pickup service.
