Should I sell at Kidia?

Read this page before booking a sales period

We want to be as open as possible about how Kidia's sales service works before you become a salesperson. On this page, you can find out how we select the products we sell and what kind of return you can expect during your sales period.

We sell current basic fashion for children and adults

At Kidia we specialise in of current assets acquired less than 5 years ago recycling clothes, shoes and accessories - for children and adults alike. In addition to clothes, we also sell toys, games, children's books, and various baby products.

We sell the brands that Finns are familiar with - both more affordable everyday basics and higher quality and value branded clothing. Instead, we do not sell ultra-fashion (such as Shein or similar) or fake products.

We are not the best place to buy vintage fashion.

Our sales service is not suitable for the recycling of older clothes.

Reasonably new products in good condition are circulating fast!

Curated selection - We check all products

It is important for you to understand that we do not automatically put on sale all the products you put on sale. We select the products available for sale on Kidia very carefully.

We go through every product brought to us manually and decide whether to put it on sale or not. To be sold Aroud 75 % of the products are picked to our selection. You should therefore be aware that we will not put up for sale all the products you bring in, but will only select the ones that are suitable for us.

It's important to us that shoppers are happy and find quality, clean and interesting products. A well-curated selection also serves you as a seller - when customers trust us, more products find a new home.

We check the condition of every garment carefully. We spot stains and holes in products. We do not sell clothes that have wash marks or have a shabby overall appearance. We exclude from sale knickers that are baggy and shoes that are untidy.

However, we don't just judge products on their condition, we also always look to see if there is demand for the product. So we assess how well the product matches current trends and styles, and when and where the product was purchased.

We also take the season into account - we sell clothes at just the right time.

Why might not all your products be selected for sale?

We see a huge number of products every week, and we know from experience which ones get sold and which ones stay on the shelves.
For this reason, we may sometimes choose not to sell items that you might think are suitable for sale. We don’t make these decisions randomly, but base them on observed demand and our understanding of our customers.

We always take into account the price point of the product. If a garment was very cheap when it was new (e.g. a shirt that cost less than €10), it may no longer have any sales value. Sometimes a garment may have a use value, but no monetary resale value.

Your product may be withdrawn from sale if.

  • Similar products have not been sold in the past
  • The product does not meet current customer needs
  • There are too many products in a given category
  • The product is not suitable for us
  • The price of the product is so low that it does not make sense to sell it (e.g. very low-priced chain clothing)
We do not separately identify products that we have not chosen to sell, nor do we justify our choices on a customer-by-customer basis. This allows us to focus on smooth service and fair treatment for all sellers.

Our price level is reasonable

At Kidia, we keep our prices reasonable and sell basic clothing at affordable prices. We want buying second-hand to be a smart and rewarding choice.

If you have a particularly valuable item coming up for sale, you can always send us a price request - we'll be happy to consider it.

How much do I earn by selling?

On the full service we split the accrued sales proceeds in half. You will then pay for your remaining share:

  • an initial fee of 15,90 € and
  • a handling fee of €0.60 for each product accepted for sale.

Purchased from we offer you a lump sum for the whole lot. We will select the products suitable for sale and pay you 30-40% of their estimated selling price.

Most of our customers make a nice profit, and we very rarely make a loss. However, it's worth remembering that in a full-service second-hand sale, we do most of the work for you - so the returns are not as high as if you were doing the flea market yourself.

Full service is never the most profitable way to sell second hand products, as service fees will always take a large part of your sales revenue. We try to keep our prices low for Kidia, as our aim is to ensure that as many items as possible find a new home during your sales period. The value of a full service to you comes from how easy and fast it is compared to selling yourself. At Kidia, you'll always reach a large number of customers, as we're open in shopping centres every day of the week with extended opening hours.

The service fees cover all the costs of the work, such as staff salaries, premises rent and all other business expenses. In addition, Kidia pays a marginal VAT of 25,5% on its share of the profits.

You should also note that we select our products very carefully for sale. If many of your products are not suitable for sale with us, your share may be smaller.
