Kidia = Recycling with a big heart ❤︎
For the love of easy recycling
Kidia was born out of a love for families and second-hand. We want to help families in their everyday lives and make clothing management easier for them.
We believe that people have a strong desire to recycle and buy used clothes. However, time is often limited, and sometimes energy is too. That’s why we want to create an effortless recycling service – from both the buyer’s and the seller’s perspective.
Recycling and circular economy are a necessary part of today’s consumption culture. We want to help our customers make sustainable and responsible choices, and help them recycle their purchases.
We believe that clothes shouldn't be stored in attics or warehouses but should be passed on to the next user as soon as they're no longer needed. This way, each item of clothing can be used as many times as possible.
For this to happen, we need businesses that can offer the highest quality recycling services for their customers. Kidia was founded to meet that need.
We know second hand clothes inside and out
Kidia was founded in early 2021, but behind the company lies many years of experience in recycling and second hand operations.
Kidian is founded by Anu Ilontaka, who has been an entrepreneur since 2014. Anu previously owned the beloved children’s store Ipanainen, which unfortunately closed due to bankruptcy in 2020. Kidia’s Service Manager, Emilia, has also been involved in developing Kidia’s service concept from the very beginning.
Anu’s goal has been to create a warm and welcoming company in Kidia, one that fullfills the needs of both customers and employees in the best possible way. At the same time, she aimed to modernize traditional flea market operations and bring recycling into shopping centers. Anu and Emilia are constantly developing Kidia based on their ongoing experiences.
Kidia has grown from a small children's goods shop to a chain of second hand stores employing almost 20 people. In addition to children's clothing, Kidia now also has a popular adult department. In 2023, we handled more than 400 thousand products and our turnover was around €2 million.
Our staff have a huge amount of second hand and recycling know-how for Kidia. We know how to get the best possible sales returns for our customers and how to get rid of unnecessary items easily as a seller. You can count on our expertise and know-how!
